Adding new Excel Fill patterns

By gisconsultant ·
I would really like to be able to add new fill patterns to the standard set that come with Excel. I have tried searching the web for resources but without success. If anyone know where I can download some new fill patterns or how to add them programmatically, it wuld be great!

You can create your own, if you have Visio.

So once I've created my own how do I utilise them in Excel? Do I create graphics in visio and then import them? I don't understand.

Not sure if you are talking about the fill pattern for the graphics, or the fill series patterns to put standard sequences in a row/column.

If you are trying to input more "auto-fill" data so you can more easily build series, than simply (for excel 2000) choose "Tools - Options", select the "Custom Lists" tab, and enter the series of data you want. Easier is to build a range of cells with the information and import it.
