Good evening.I am currently doing a Test project w/Mark Minasi’s mastering win 2k server.One area that is seriously confounding me is.One domain controller is installed.A second child domain as well,I was installing a second domain controller,thus 1)One user was created,given the enterprise admin priveledge.Loaded a second server,joined my current domain,rebooted to apply.log on as enterprise admin onto the domain,Ran dcpromo.exe.During the promotion specified my credentials in this sequence ie(user)Plato
(password)password,(Domain)jjluv.edu.It asked for password verification,I verified.At that stage I get the verification screen which states”Failed to modify necesary properties of machine account Server02$.I also included server02 in
Sites & services on dc.I must admit I have deleted these machines netbios names several times & renamed it to try to accomplish this
but I have to post this question,perhaps someone can throw some thoughts.I searched Microsoft site for literature but i have not found it,or I am overlooking some very trivial prosedure,Thanx in advance for any insight,Aziz
