I was attempting to have my laptop (XP Pro OS) log into my home network. I
changed the settings from use Domain, to use Workgroup. I gave the home
network name, under Workgroup name on the laptop, and restarted the
computer. Now, at Windows Log On screen, I have username and password entry
options only (no domain). The username is the same as always, for the previous setting,
but the password does not work. So far, no password of any kind or username (including administrator from safe-mode and pressing ctrl+alt+del twice) works. Reconnecting to the work network does not help me to log on either but you can see the machine on the network from any other machine on the network. Neither the administrator or system passwords are set i.e. they are blank. Option to restore to an earlier working system was offered and tried but does nothing.
