ADMINISTRATOR RIGHT'S

By JJONES870 ·
My grandson somehow removed me from the administrators privleage's on my Windows XP Pro OS
on my PC. Now Every time I try to go into systems manager or run certian Office proceedure's, I get a error message, saying to see my pg administor to get authorized. I am the admin.,but it's not even letting me re-format my PC.
How do I fix this?

Boot up in safe mode (tap F8 during boot-up) and logon with the Administrator account.
Right-click My Computer
Choose Manage
Click Users and Groups
Click Groups
Right Click the Administrators Group and choose Properties
Add your account

Log on as the son and create another user acct with admin rights then make yourself an administrator again and cut the son down to Power user. And have a firm talkin' with that boy :-).

This doesn't really make sense. If you boot to the XP CDROM, run setup and select to do a fresh install of the OS by reformatting you wouldn't be prompted for an administrator login or password untill the installation was was allmost finished.
So perhaps there's a virus or something else.

You can get a program that will change the admin login and password. http://www.mirider.com/ntaccess.html
