Same issue: Vista computer &can't download ANY pdf files

by laango In reply to Adobe reader using window ...

I am having the same issues and find it highly annoying. I have Vista and wondered if it has something to do with that. If anyone knows how to resolve this problem, I will greatly appreciate it. I have download Adobe also, but STILL always get this pop-up saying that I must purchase Acrobat ito to view the file. What is up with that????? I don't get it.

You are probably required to buy Adobe Writer

As apposed to Adobe Reader which is the free to use one.

This could be to do with the Security protocols in Vista and the fact that Windows Mail isn't stored locally but on the MS Server and Adobe Reader is incapable of opening remote items.

But as I do not personally use or support Vista I'm not 100% sure of this but it may give you a starting point to work from. The M$ Vista Help page has no information on this so I'm unsure of how they have configured their applications.
