Advanced Icon's Missing from Administrative Tools

By rcashier03 ·
Hello,

The icons for the common administrative tools (like services, computer
management, event viewer etc) are still there and they are OK. It's
just the icons for the administrative tools installed by adminpak.msi
that have gone missing (for tools like Active Directory Users and
Computers, DNS, DHCP, Wins, ...).

I tried removing adminpak.msi and reinstalling it, I tried to repair it
using Add/Remove programs, but I still have the wrong icons for these
extra adminpak tools...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Icon's although not displaying pictures do work, i can deal with this...

But... I would rather not and would like to have everything back to normal.

Thanks In Advance

the shelliconcache (in XP, it is C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db
(Always back it up first, or just rename it.)

Or, start the computer in Safe Mode once, then boot normally. Check to see if the icons are correct.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I tried the Safe Mode Trick and I deleted the IconCache.db.

No Luck!

Like mentioned before my normal WinXP Pro Icon's are all great it's just the admin pack featured icon's like Remote Desktop's DHCP, DNS, ...
