Advise About Final Yr University Porject

by john_wills In reply to Advise About Final Yr Uni ...

This is what I suggested to Chris Ho: as long as you're not in the same university you may as well do the same project.
Singapore Flight Computer System Project
Staff Allocation Sub-Project
Singapore Flight is an airline with a restricted network within S-E Asia. It allocates staff and planes to flights and its databases must include this information. This allocation must be kept as far as possible distinct from the other sub-projects, e.g. payroll. Produce a large central body of data structures and procedure, preferably in VDM.
What kinds of staff are there?
How many of each kind of staff are needed in each flight?
How many crew shifts are needed in a flight?
What connection is there between kind of staff and kind of plane, i.e. are there plane-kind-specific skills to attribute to staff?
Suppose the roster is issued for a claendar month at a time, with no crew member flying more than the legally allowed number of hours.
The present subsystem must include a database design and 3 kinds of function: update, query & report. The monthly roster is one of the required reports.
Your tutor or other supervisor should be able to specify details about Flight Singapore, and you should treat him as a customer representative in this respect.
