Sounds like your video drivers are corrupted.

1. Find the disk/CD that came with the video card. If it's an onboard one, go to System in Control Panel, then view Device Manager info to get model info.

2. If you don't have a disk from above, you'll have to find some way to get to the Internet to download the drivers for your card.

3. While in Safe Mode, reinstall the video drivers.

Hope this helps.

There is a problem with your Display Resolution setting. When you can view the display in the Safe mode that means your display card is Ok but the resolution which you have choosen is not compatible to your monitor.

Go to Safe mode
In Safe mode right on the desktop
right click--->properties--->settings---->
check the screen resolution if it is 800x600 then reduce the resolution. if you see the resolution in the safemode as normal then just click the advance button---->click Adaptor tab and check the name of the Adaptor and if possible try to Reinstall an adaptor from your Win2000 only.

otherwise you have to get the exact drivers of your Display Card and have to install it.

Your first try this I have more options,if this not work you contact me.

if you need more suggestions regarding this or apart from this you can feel free to ask me.
