After DBAN: Not able to boot up computer

By catharp548 ·
As someone who is not super computer savvy I appreciate any insights anyone can give (and I apologize for potential lack of using correct terminology).

I wanted to wipe the harddrive on my computer so that I could sell it and I used DBAN, though on a USB because I don’t have a dvd drive. My computer was custom built by my ex, it's roughly 2 years old. It has an ASUS AsRock Z68 motherboard.

So I ran the DBAN, twice (since this issue happened I thought going through DBAN again would bring a solution but no dice), and essentially the computer isn't booting back up on its own. When I remove the USB and restart it says 'Please install/input media device' but when I have the USB in all it does is loop back to the original screen I got when I was first starting up the DBAN to wipe the drive.

I was going to install the DVD drive and use that to install any drivers that may have been messed up when the drive was being wiped. Otherwise if anyone has any recommendations/solutions (in laymen's terms) I'd be SUPER grateful! Thank you all 
