I am investigating a file format for cad data visualization. My organization is concerned at the amount of IP in this file format, as it can very efficiently store vast amounts of engineering data in single files.
What I am wondering is, can one allow access to open a file in a viewer program (that does not allow any export options), but not allow access to the folder containing that file? I want users to be able to open the files, but not get to where they are and copy them. Could a shortcut be made to do that? I am very new to security options in Windows, so any help or ideas are much appreciated.
