Alt+Tab How to disable it?

By H. M. Junaid Mansoor ·
For some reasons i need a solution to disable Alt+Tab for a duration when my software is running(It is in a DOS Mode and to be frank a long Batch Program) One solution i got was following registry: -

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"CoolSwitch"="0"

if it is not possible in registry then is there is any way i can do it when my batch file starts?

Please reply ASAP.
But it seams no effect

Alt+Tab How to disable it?

Hi,

Although you may find a solution to Alt-tab, what about ctrl-alt-del and then switch task?

I doubt you'll get a solution for ctrl-alt-del and furthermore, I dont think you want to disable that!

Can you rewrite your batch process so thatit doesn't matter if it has focus or not? That would be better.

Cheers,
Tim.

Alt+Tab How to disable it?

you can have your batch file change the registry upon execution...

You may want to make your registry changes in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" rather than "CURRENT_USER."

Run regedit and export the above key to a .reg file. Save it as "switchoff.reg"(or whatever you want).

Change the value in regedit for "CoolSwitch" to "1" - export this registry key and save it as a .reg file (name it "switchon.reg").

In your batch file, make the following additions:

c:\windows\regedit x:\path\switchoff.reg /s
then your program command to start your app
c:\windows\regedit x:\path\switchon.reg /s

(where 'x:\path' is the drive and location that you saved your registry files to. Also, make sure that 'regedit.exe' is also pathed correctly).

Good luck!
This should take care of it
