Android owner? Your twitter data might be leaked.

By samgord ·
As BBC announced recently "Private tweets sent by users of Twitter's Android app could have been exposed publicly for years".
Twitter said it had discovered a security flaw which meant "protected" tweets became public when some changes were made to accounts.
Anyone who updated the email address linked to their account between November 2014 and January 2019 could have had messages exposed, it said. Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-46**8859
Did it happen to you? What do you think about Twitter privacy?

I would say I don't mind about that issue because there is no so many people who have something to be lost from twitter.
Actually I believe that news are made of to attract more attention to this social network as it's dying.

Encryption?

by indigofurr In reply to Android owner? Your twitt ...

Is this something that a VPN would protect against? I know if you post to twitter it will stay there in letters, but some VPNs like Surfshark or CyberGhost claim no-logs policy, so maybe some part of data-flow to twitter would be encrypted and not stored anywhere, thus inaccessible?
