    Annoying WIN2K Folder Protection

    Locked

    by jon irish ·

What is the registry key (and setting) that turns off the annoying folder message:

This folder contains files that keep your system working properly. There is no need to modify its contents (yea, sure).

To view the contents of this folder, click: Show Files.

    TIA,
    Jon

I have never seen that message, but then again I am using NTFS partions and I am a local admin to my machines. Are you using Fat32? Why, tool suite? There are tools for DOS to read NTFS out there.
      Hope that helps.

Actually i am using NTFS, but this issue is a registry issue, and not file system. I was looking at a WIN98 PC last night, and noticed that it had the same annoying prompt any time you try to open a system folder.
