Any suggestions?

By albert2001_it ·
I am 23, a full time student, and I also work full time as a "Showroom Manager" and "IT Manager" (job titles do not mean anything!)at the company where I am at right now. I am the one in charge of a LAN with 30 users. I do all of the desktop support for the company and I train new employees with our company software, and I am also the one to call at the help desk. I will be graduating with an A.S Degree in September for Computer Network Systems. I have been looking for jobs in the IT Field because where I am at there is no hope for advancement and the pay is not good either, since I have two big responsabilities, the company is saving a lot of money by having me here because since I took over the IT position almost 2 years ago, the computer techs that they usually called for any computer needs are no longer needed. And any time I ask for a raise they just give me the run around. My question is: Is there something else I should now about this field so that my resume looks better when I send it off to companies? Because I really want to be at a place where I get what I deserve.

Please give me all of your suggestions.

Lets see you are working at a Dealership, possibly new cars. You will have your A.S. in computer network systems, although you do not know how to use spell checker (Is there something else I should should now about this field). You need to use what you have learned before trying to go further.

I have to manage WAN/LAN/equipment access for import equipment (BTW - No higher learning in computer systems) for over 7 years. However pratical experience far outways your book learning, when I call the IT department it usually takes 2+ personnel to fix the problem I pose (half the time I find the solution before they can).

Direction - Get as much experience in whatever field you want to go into, look for a job (dead end or whatever) going forward in the direction (larger systems/more personnel) you choose.

Resume - Bullets Systems - What you did / Position held. (As an individual that hires/fires this is what I look at, along with experience) B.S. positions will not work, only reputable position descriptions will impress employeers.

Your position;

DATES - IT Manager - Provided computer support for Win XX / Win XXXX for over XX computers and Server.

DATES - Showroom Manager

A.S. Degree in Computer Network Systems

BTW - If my resume looked like the above, my sites would be a lot lower than what they are right now ! Cut my teeth in the IT stuff before Win 3.0. Learned on DOS 1.2, been here awhile!

High School Diploma

OTL: Your message contains almost as many spelling errors as the original.

Just thought I'd be fair and point that out.
