Just was wondering if anyone has ever heard of the application Adobe Color - Photoshop Specific (As listed in Add/Remove Programs). What is it used for?

In the commercial printing trade there are over 1200 specified colours for ink, dyes, ultra-violet varnishes and specific trade-marked 'special' spot-colours.

Any high quality program that has an output to the professional market, has to be able to guarantee strict adherence to established principles - one of those principles is how colours are specified.

WYSIWYG not only applies to keystrokes/letters on screen. It also applies to colours on screen/colours printed on paper.

Substrates other than paper involve an even more complex procedure including post-printing processes, permeability of substrate, durability of product and anticipated life-span and exposure to sunlight.
