I had downloaded a program that showed me everything I needed for my computer. Or should I say what could be wrong with my computer. It offered many patches and updates, dont know what its called or how to get it again. I think I got it at techrepublic?? Any help would be great, Thanks.

If it is a Patch/Hotfix Util, it is probably HFNETCHK from Microshaft.

It is a great Util. You will need IE5 at least to run it because it uses XML.

Download it from MS. Unzip it and place it in the root of C(it’s the easiest location)

Open a command promt (start/run/type cmd press enter) Type in hfnetchk press enter. it will download the xml file and then scan your machine. It will tell you what patches /hot fixes are needed.

Use this link http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.asp for the patches. You can probably search on there for the util.

It downloads an app that checks your PC for all installed hd and apps and then gives you choice of what to update. Use it cautiously. Itcan be wrong.
