By tj015u5789_3 ·
Every-time I try to launch aol to get connect on the internet it takes a very long time before I can get connected it takes about over 5 mins before aol software actually launch it self on screen...I try deleting and re-installing works for about three days and then it goes back to how it was before. My solution around this problem is clicking on Internet Explorer which launch aol withing seconds... Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Diable anything AOL has running other than the main program.
-Delete anyhting in the STartup menu that you do not need to start up when Windows boots.
-If you have the AOL icon on the taskbar, right click it and turn off the "auto start" options. Then close the icon and never have it come up again.
-Open the RUN box and type "msconfig" in the box. Under STARTUP tab, declick anything of AOL (and anything else you know of that should not be starting with Windows, like RealPlayer).
Give it a clean reboot and try again. Let me know.

Thank for the advise I tried all that before but it never work... I have been checking the Registry and found a lot of AOL, a list of aol in my registry ... Sounds like I might have to clean and re-installed...Not sure yet...
