I have an Apache installation running on a Redhat 8 os with php and mysql and virtual hosts. The first time a client accesses a page in one of the sites, it takes a very long time to load. After your first access of a page on the server all works fine. I have made sure that Hostname lookups is set to off for all sites. What else could be slowing performance.
