Appending data to a table from a form

by comphelpnj . Updated 21 years, 5 months ago

Using Access 2000, I’d like to use a form that will query one table to populate part of the form, then have the user enter data in the remainging fields in the form, and then post that user data to the end of a different table. I figured out how to query a table to populate part of the form, but I can’t figure out the second half – appending the data to a different table from that same form. Any suggestions?

I am trying to create a shipping screen that will populate the form with the customer’s shipping data (name, address, shipping method, etc) from one table, then allow the user to enter addtional shipping data (carrier, service, weight, tracking number, etc), then post that data to another table containing the daily shipping records.

I’m sure this can be done with some type of macro activated within the form, but not being that fluent in Access forms or macros I just can’t figure this one out.

Thanks for your help.
