    Apple iPhone 4 Support

    by gygaxia ·

So, I am wondering when Apple stopped supporting the iPhone 4 and where could I find some sort of official information about that.

A local law enforcement agency has charged me with posting a photo of one of them on X in what they’re calling an intimidating manner. It’s of course just a way to discourage people from legally photographing them. They’re saying I did this with my iPhone 4, which they seized. Now, from my understanding, the iPhone hasn’t been supported in I think in 10 years, including it’s Safari web browser and Twitter was never installed on there. But I need to show that to a judge. Charges will end no doubt being dismissed, but I need to be prepared.

    Thanks in advance.

https://endoflife.date/iphone shows the support was ended in september 2014. But that doesn’t mean that it stopped working then.
Apparently you still used it when they seized it.

Also, making a photo is not the same as putting it on X. That can be done later and on another device. If it’s your X-account, they’ll say you’re responsible for posting it, I’m afraid.

No you are mistaken. The alleged offense occurred on April 4, the photo they believe was taken with my DSLR, I’m a photographer. They asked me to come to the police station on April 7 when they arrested me and seized my iPhone at that time because I had it on me. You shouldn’t make assumptions. I’m aware that the iPhone still works, but the only way I could upload the alleged photo would be the web browser and that doesn’t work anymore.

Funny how they think it was my iPhone and not my Android phone, or my tablet, or my laptop or one of my 2 working desktop PCs and my DSLR has WiFi.

As said, they took my phone to try and inconvenience me. It was the reason I went only with that phone. I knew what was going to happen. They also seized my DSLR, a lower end one. I didn’t bring my best because again I knew what they would do.

Sadly this is why you don’t talk to the police.

Anything you say will be used against you. You don’t provide them with evidence. There’s many videos about this. Shut up, don’t hand them evidence or try to talk your way out. I can’t guess why you wanted to help them make their case.

If they want that phone, here in the USA they need a subpoena or warrant. Other countries? Can’t comment.

What’s done is done. Get a lawyer and follow the lawyer’s instructions.

As to the iPhone, IRRELEVANT. You now have legal problems, there are no tech issues here.

Again you’re wrong. People really need to stop assuming. They were given no evidence and they had a warrant to seize my items, and I’ve had a lawyer since the beginning of all of this. lol

But this isn’t about the case. This is a tech forum. I’m here for tech help, not legal assistance. Too funny. But thanks anyway guys.

And that link in the original comment doesn’t help me.

You asked for the end of support. The link I gave in my first answer says “Ended 10 years ago (17 Sep 2014)” . Why doesn’t that help?
