Archived mail

When archiving mail in Outlook 2002, I select mail to be archived from this time last year. The archive folder displays the sub folders in the folder list. There is mail from 2000 in my mailbox. But NO mail at all in the archive folder. All of the Properties of the subfolders have ARCHIVE ITEMS IN THIS FOLDER USING DEFAULT SETTINGS. I have also tried changing these settings as well. Can anybody HELP !!!!
