Are Chrome and Google the same thing?

I’ve always seen that chrome and Google have the same logo and do the same thing but I’m not sure if they are the same or just very similar.

On my Android tablet in the Google folder is an app called Google with G logo and an app called Chrome with a round logo. And many more apps with still other logo’s (like Maps and Drive and Youtube and Lens), but those aren’t relevant for your question.
And different apps with different logo’s are not the same thing.

Maybe you don’t have Android?

Chrome and Google are closely connected but not the same. Google is the company, while Chrome is its web browser. Chrome is just one of many products developed by Google, including Search, Gmail, and Android.
