ASP permissions and href’s from DB

by michael roark - ccna/da mcp 3csa . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

My website is almost all ASP (not the public area), all of the pages are not cached and check for authorization from an ODBC DB I made in Access 2000, I need to know the code for including things in the database, such as the user’s name, and if theyhave permission to go to a certain area, that link needs to be there, if they don’t, it shouldn’t show. The site started out as pages grouped by permissions granted, so with every new group that needs a specific type of page, a new set of pages needed to be made. I’m up to almost 1,000 pages today. and It’s getting harder and harder to manage.
I don’t understand web design like I probably should, and I don’t understand Access like I probably should. If anyone knows how to tell me how to do this kindergardener style, it would make my life SO much easier. If any more details are needed, PLEASE feel free to email me, michael.roark@4its.org, or you can call toll-free 877-ITS-2095. Thanks in Advance.
Props go out to Don Q.
