At this point, the Windows XP Home CD should format the HD and begin installation. You will need to determine whether you want FAT32 or NTFS file system. Windows XP operates faster with NTFS, but NTFS takes up more sector space.
If Windows still won't load, try formatting with a 3rd party utility such as the Seagate disc tools freeware:
Usually when you get this type of error when loading the XP install CD, there is an issue with the system RAM.
You might try reducing the installed RAM by removing a module and then reinstalling it after you have XP installed.
It could also be an issue with the CD ROM not working with the DVD drive. Have you tried using other CDs in this system?
You also may need to go to Intel's site and create a floppy for the SATA driver. If you need the SATA driver, your best option may be to create a slip-stream XP CD with the SATA driver added to it.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
