Attorney Generals Lobby for Tax Privacy

Last month, the A-Letter reported on the IRS's up-and-coming policy that would allow tax preparers to sell Americans' so-called "private" tax information to data brokers. This week attorneys general from 46 US states filed formal protests against this new IRS scheme - saying this new policy would allow identity thieves and solicitors easy access to tax information. Unfortunately these complaints may be too little, too late to stop the IRS.

Don't you just love the IRS???
