auto run feature

By rajivnarayanan@hotmail ·
I have created a power point presentation which I need to have an auto run feature installed. The objective is,that as soon as I put the CD in the CD ROM, my first slide needs to automatically come up on the screen. The remaining slides can be worked upon manually.

Please tell me how to configure this auto run feature into my presentation.

You need to create an autorun file to burn on the cd with the presentation.

Open notepad

type "[AutoRun"
press enter then type
"open=the name of the powerpoint.ppt"

save as AUTORUN.INF
and burn this file onto the cd with the presentation.

This will automatically open the presentation when you insert the cd.

The last reply is correct only if you have PowerPoint on the computer AND you want to open the program. If you want to have the presentation automatically open and play, save it as a presentation. You will need to include the PowerPoint viewer available athttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=428d5727-43ab-4f24-90b7-a94784af71a4&displaylang=en) and include it in the script.

It should look like this - but I have not tested this script so don't quote me on it

[autorun]
OPEN=program name.pps
InstallerFileOpenOptions=Prompt
InstallerFile=ppviewer.exe
InstallerUserQuery=Would you like to install the viewer before opening the file?

If you have PowerPoint 2003 it already has a built in feature to burn the presentation to a CD autoplay ready.
