While trying to start the Automatic Updates service using:
Net Start “Automatic Updates”

I get an error in Event Viewer:

Querying the service displays:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

C:\Documents and Settings\CrashTDummy>sc query “Automatic Updates”
[SC] EnumQueryServicesStatus:OpenService FAILED 1060:
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
Does anybody know what this error means or how to resolve it please?
