Automatically Saving Email Attachments

By Mintyboy - IT Manager ·
Does anyone know how to automatically save attachments in emails which have a preformatted subject line. The suject line contains information that is unique to each email sent.
I am currently getting between 20 and 50, and this is rising, of these per day and need to filed so that other users can access the information in them, I am trying to remove the human element. Any help appreciated. TIA

Automatically Saving Email Attachments

If exchange 2000, an event sink could do this. The book Programming Collaborative Web Apps with MS Exchange 2000 Server (ISBN 0-7356-0772-9) devotes a whopping two pages to the topic. Since you want to key off a subject line, you can use cdoSubject to trigger a test of urn:schemas:httpmail:hasattachment and, if True, save the attachments locally.

You *might* be able to do it with client-side CDO, depending on whether or not company policy allows you to run CDO locally (it's not installed by default).
