    Average Development time, How long?

    I have read somewhere that the average development time for a start to finish instructor lead class is 400 hours. Can anyone help me find documentation to back this up?

      A class in what, that will last how long? There is no real way to answer your question. What I have found however, is that for most technical subjects, assuming instructor knowledge is adequate, is that it takes at least 3 hours of development forevery hour in class

      Depending on how technical the class is, how long the class will be, and how many exercises need to be created for class participation and review will all be inputs to development time. Another key factor in this development ratio is the target audience’s knowledge level of the subject to be developed.
      I have experienced anywhere from 4 to 1 to 20 to 1.
      There may be instrutor lead material available for purchase which will greatly decrease this ratio of development time instruction time.

      What are you developing? Skilled users for software that already exists, or skilled programmers to develop software? Do you want to develop user friendly software that has build-in self Help? What language? What database product (if any?). Re-post your question with a specific need and explain 1: Your target Audience, and 2: What will the instructor be presenting?
