AVG 8.0 SBS set up question

By jasonemmg ·
I installed AVG 8.0 SBS this past Friday afternoon.

Since then on a few PC's in both IE6 and IE7 links on some web sites do not work when I click on them. I disabled link scanner and another feature on those PC's and still not luck.

On another PC using IE6 I was on a support web site for a software vendor of ours which always works I could not open the chat window for them to take control of the PC remotely I installed IE7 then eventually Firefox 3.0.

Is this related to AVG? If so, How can I correct this problem?

I e-mail AVG 24hr ago and have not heard back is there a tech support phone number I can call?

Thank you,

Jason

It will ask for your License/Sales Number. As you are talking about a work environment, you would have to have that as the free version is only for home use and comes with no support.

Good luck.

Firewall on AVG

by Vitreketren In reply to AVG 8.0 SBS set up questi ...

I've noticed with the normal version of AVG 8 that a few links haven't worked on my PC, however after study I've found that sometimes it's the built in firewall that's blocking these requests. You may want to check the firewall entries to the computers/server and see if any of the IP's/programs are blocked with AVG.

Did you disable it in IEx too? Or just open the program and disable it in AVG? B/c I have found that you have to do both. Open IE -->tools --> Manage add-ons --> Disable AVG Safe search... Hopefully this helps!
