Backing up Exchange 2000 with SBS 6

Using the built in NT backup program I should be able to back up the Exchange 2000 files (it installs an agent when it is installed itself). Unfortunately it doesn’t work. It may be an issue with W2K SBS. Does anyone know a fix?
