Backlight Issues

I have an Acer Aspire 5570 running Windows XP Media Center 2005.

Just recently the backlight is dimming after the computer is turned on, and only brightens up when either the laptop is plugged into power, or when Media Center is opened.

The computer is fully charged, and when Media Center is on, it is bright and ok.

Like I said, it only recently started behaving this way. I would like for the backlight to stay on while in use without Media Center running like it used to.

I can’t seem to find the settings for this anywhere.

Any suggestions?????

Sounds like a power managmeent feature to me. Most laptops dim the backlight to conserve battery life. If I remember correctly this feature is enabled in the BIOS on my Acer laptop. I don’t know anything about Windows MC but would imagine these settings will be found under power management in control panel or via a third party power management applet. Sorry I can’t be more specific
