    Backup Product

    i am looking a user friendly, easy to deploy and use, very reliable and portable backup product. i have used Arcserve in the past and was wasn’t very happy with their data integrity when doing a restore; also their their tech support wasn’t that good.

    currently we are using Legato and it is the most bizzare product i have seen. their backup data seems solid, it is VERY user and administrator unfriendly. it doesn’t print out detailed reports and has caused me many major headaches. their tech support sucks as well.

    i have never used Backup Exec (or their Enterprise product). i would appreciate all comments and suggestion/horror and love stories about the backup products you use.

    we also have SQL 7.0 and Exch 5.5 … which products have the best modules for them.

      BackupExec is pretty easy (I figured it out :-0) and reliable. Allows you to really back up and restore the registry (key problem with just ‘NT Backup). If I had to recommend a product, it’d be BackupExec.

      BackupExec from Veritas (www.veritas.com) formerly from Seagate Software, is the best backup product that I’ve seen. It’s also the only backup product that we recommend.
