I am looking for tips and examples of a Backup Media/Data retention policy. We currently do full backups each night and store our tapes off site indefinitely. I have been asked to implement a policy that limits the amount of time we keep the backup tapes. What are the legal requirements for backup storage for a public company? Does anyone know where I can find some answers?
