Twice in the last few weeks our Exchange 5.5 server (Dell Poweredge 2550 with Intel Gigabit NIC) has lost connectivity to the network. It sees everything fine and produces no error messages, yet no one can see it on the internal network. We can, however, ping it. I tried a different hub, etc., and uninstalled and reinstalled TCP/IP – still did not work. The ONLY fix I could successfully implement was to change the internal IP address of the server, and have our firewall people re-NAT the external address. Since it’s happened twice, it must be more than a fluke. Any ideas?? I’ve never heard of an IP address going “Bad”.
Thanks!
