    Battery for Toshiba Satellite laptop

    by notmrman_ ·

I found an old Toshiba Satellite 1135-s125 laptop yesterday in my basement. I want to buy a new battery for it, but the cheapest one that i found was $60. Can someone help to find a cheaper option?
(If needed, i can provide the serial number)

That seems a reasonable price for a Toshiba battery. But, indeed, I would hesitate to spend $60 to get a 2003 laptop working.

In fact, I would hesitate to use it at all, even if the RAM is increased from 256 MB to 1 GB and it runs Windows XP SP2, unless I really needed something that runs XP for some special purpose.

I mostly want to get it working just to experience windows xp again. That or just installing old operating systems in general.

It technically doesn’t need a battery; I have a charger. However, the charger is loose so I have to sit still while using it since the battery doesn’t hold a charge.

        Thanks for replying!

Chargers are much cheaper than batteries.

Does it look like this one? https://www.newegg.com/powerwarehouse-854031568134-8-cell-lithium-ion-battery/p/16J-002H-05F22

Frankly, to experience XP doesn’t require this laptop. You can load XP into a Virtual Machine. I use Virtual Box before but now we don’t need XP as it’s been far too long and all the old apps have been replaced.

Also, I see complete working (claimed to be) on eBay for that much.

Yep. That’s the battery I was talking about.

I am aware of virtual machines and have used them before, however, I would like to keep the experience more natrual. Plus, it would be fun to do experiments on.

Also, yes, that is the battery I was talking about.

Yeah, when I looked I basically found the same. Thanks for looking, though!

On my older laptop computers, I would take the battery out and plug the laptop in to power it. No need to have to buy a battery if the power supply/cord still works properly.
