Being required to sign in on my pc every day on every app/website

    by vikki.gomez99 ·

Every day I am kicked out of my apps and the websites where I have a registered account. I have to log in again every day, even when I’ve checked the box to stay logged in. My laptop often closes down on its own overnight, so all of my tabs are gone the next day. Then Google asks me (again) for my 2-step verification on my phone, even though I’ve checked the box ‘not to ask on this device again’. I know it’s got to be something in my settings, but I don’t know what to do.

Did you try to hibernate Windows during the night? Might make just the difference you need.

I suspect your system is automatically clearing your saved cookies. What internet browser are you using?

Your device might be clearing cookies

It sounds like your device might be clearing cookies or settings that keep you logged in. Check your browser settings to ensure it isn’t set to clear cookies and site data on exit. Adjust your laptop’s power settings to prevent it from shutting down overnight by setting it to sleep instead. Also, review any antivirus or security software that might be cleaning cookies or affecting login sessions, and disable any browser extensions that might interfere with login data. In your Google Account, ensure 2-step verification is set up correctly and that your device is recognized. These steps should help maintain your login sessions. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to the specific app or website support for further assistance.

      Persistent Login Issues on PC

      Hi Vikki,

It sounds like your settings or browser behavior might be clearing login data. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

      Check Browser Settings:

Ensure your browser isn’t set to clear cookies or cache on exit.
In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data, and ensure “Keep local data only until you quit your browser” is off.
      Power Settings:

If your laptop is shutting down or hibernating unexpectedly, check the power settings:
Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep, and adjust sleep or hibernate settings.
      Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):

Ensure cookies for trusted devices are not being cleared. If Google keeps prompting, verify that your account doesn’t have suspicious activity or unauthorized logins.
      Antivirus/Privacy Tools:

Some antivirus or privacy-focused tools clear browsing sessions. Check if any app is configured to do this.
      Windows Settings:

Check Windows Sign-In options under Settings > Accounts to ensure your account isn’t automatically logging out.
