Best Budget Laptops for 2024 – Recommendations & Experiences?

I’m looking for a reliable budget laptop in 2024 for everyday use, including web browsing, light productivity, and occasional media consumption. I’ve seen some deals on Acer, Lenovo, and HP models, but I’d love to hear real user experiences.

What budget laptops are you using, and how’s the performance? Any recommendations under $600 that offer good value?

– Why 2024? It’s 2025 now.
– In your requirements, is there any difference between “best” and “reliable”?
– Tell more about your requirements for size and weight. Or isn’t it for portable use?
– What media apart from via the web? Do you want a built-in DVD-player?

Does it have to be new? Recently I bought a refurbished Dell business laptop 3 or 4 years old with Windows 11. That might be perfect for what you need and want and costed less than half of a new one.

I would recommend the Lenovo X-series laptops, which you can get cheap and refurbished.
