If you don’t trust the automatic settings, your settings really depend on what you’re taking pictures of. A macro photo of a flower needs quite different settings than a portrait or a football game or a night picture.

Go and follow a course on photography to make the best of it.

Achieving stunning photos on your iPhone involves mastering the camera settings. Set exposure manually by tapping on the screen and adjusting with the sun icon slider. Focus on your main subject by tapping on it or experiment with locking focus using “AE/AF Lock.” Enable HDR for scenes with contrasting light. Turn on grid lines for better composition. Use Portrait mode for beautiful background blur and experiment with different Portrait Lighting options. Adjust exposure manually in tricky lighting by using the slider that appears after tapping to focus. In low-light conditions, let the iPhone suggest Night mode or enable it manually. Keep your phone steady for a few seconds to capture a longer exposure. Utilize Burst mode by holding down the shutter button for action shots. If available, experiment with ProRAW for more control over post-processing. Explore third-party camera apps like Halide or ProCamera for additional features and manual controls. Keep your iPhone lens clean for sharp and clear photos. Practice and familiarize yourself with these settings in various conditions for consistently stunning results.

The “best” iPhone camera settings often depend on the scene and personal preference, but here are some general tips for stunning photos:

      1. **HDR (Auto):** Enable HDR for balanced exposure in high-contrast scenes.
      2. **Grid & Level:** Use gridlines for better composition and the level tool to ensure straight shots.
      3. **Exposure Adjustment:** Tap to focus and slide your finger up or down to adjust exposure manually.
      4. **Portrait Mode:** Great for a blurred background effect (bokeh) in portrait shots.
      5. **Night Mode:** For low-light conditions, let the iPhone automatically switch to Night Mode for clearer images.
      6. **ProRAW (if available):** Offers more editing flexibility but results in larger file sizes.
      7. **Avoid Digital Zoom:** Opt for optical zoom or move closer instead of using digital zoom to maintain quality.

Experimenting with these settings and understanding their impact on different scenes will help you capture stunning photos tailored to your preferences.

Here are some of my favorite camera settings and tips for taking breathtaking photos on your iPhone:
Exposure: Exposure is the amount of light that reaches the camera sensor. You can adjust the exposure manually by tapping on the screen and dragging the slider up or down. A higher exposure will brighten the image, while a lower exposure will darken it. You can also lock the exposure by tapping and holding on the screen until you see AE/AF Lock. This will prevent the camera from changing the exposure automatically when you move or recompose the shot.
Focus: Focus is the sharpness of the image. You can adjust the focus manually by tapping on the screen where you want the camera to focus. You can also lock the focus by tapping and holding on the screen until you see AE/AF Lock. This will prevent the camera from changing the focus automatically when you move or recompose the shot. You can also use Portrait mode to create a blurred background effect that makes your subject stand out. Portrait mode works best when you have enough distance between your subject and the background, and when your subject is well-lit and contrasted from the background.
HDR: HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and it is a feature that combines multiple exposures of the same scene to create a balanced image that preserves the details in both the highlights and the shadows. You can turn on HDR by tapping on the HDR icon on the top right corner of the screen. You can also choose to keep the normal photo along with the HDR photo by going to Settings > Camera > Keep Normal Photo. HDR works best when you have a scene with a lot of contrast, such as a landscape with a bright sky and a dark foreground, or a backlit subject.
Other tricks: There are some other tricks that you can use to improve your iPhone photography, such as:
Use the grid to align your composition and follow the rule of thirds. You can turn on the grid by going to Settings > Camera > Grid.
Use the volume buttons or the earphones to take a photo without touching the screen. This can help you avoid camera shake and get a sharper image.
Use burst mode to take multiple photos in a row by pressing and holding the shutter button. This can help you capture the best
