Best way to Dual Boot XP and Longhorn

By Scooby170480 ·
I already have a partition with XP SP2 on it and would like to try out windows longhorn. Is it just a simple matter of resizing the partition and installing longhorn on the new partition? What would be the best plan of action? i've had problems dual-booting XP and 2003. So any advice or Tips would be appreciated

Install XP first, install Longhorn, then boot off the XP CD.

Run the recovery console off the CD, and "FIXMBR","FIXBOOT", AND BOOTCFG /rebuild, adding the XP install back to the boot menu

To iinstall the recovery console on your machine so you don't need the CD,boot into windows and run d:\1386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons (whereas is your cd rom drive)
