Best way to sell a CMS system

This time I would like you advice to know how is the best focus on try to sell a CMS system. On this case my client want a Internet Portal and I want to sell to them a CMS solution.

How is the best way to sell this kind of service?
Firstable they will pay me for my consultant services and if they require some specific solution I will develop a custom solution.

I gonna to use a DotNetNuke implementation.

I have to confess it?s my fist time on CMS projects.

My honest opinion is to do a cost/benefits presentation.

And if they still decide to do an Internet Portal, you do what the customer wants as it is their project.

In many respects a CMS and a Portal are the same system.

it's a unified login for multiple services.

The real difference is that a CMS is seen as a commercial site, a Portal as a Community site.

the Nuke & drivatives are Portals, yet they are also CMS.
