Best way to share Exchange Global Address List

By tommymcbrayer ·
I am running Exchange 2003 and we recently aquired a company that is running Exchange 5.5. I would like to know what is the best way to share each others GAL. We currently have approximately 600 users and they have around 400 users.

Do you plan to integrate the two domains and/or Exchange organizations? If you're going to incorporate the new company into your active directory forest, one possible solution would be to install the Active directory connector that ships with Exchange 2003 in the Exchange 5.5 organization. This will synchronize the Exchange 5.5 directory information with Active directory, which should make it fairly easy.

Perhaps a simpler alternative is to set up an SMTP connector between the two organizations. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this will allow for address list hsaring between the two systems.
