    Blocked videomail

    Locked

    by glennmoldafsky ·

I’m using both MSN Explorer and Outlook Express for my email. I’ve tried sending videomail but this is blocked in both programs. The notification(s) of the blockings tell me that the videomail was blocked because it is a dangerous message.

    Any help?

      Have you tried renaming it.
There have been virii that were transmitted in
the hope someone would play them using the media
      player….
So you might rename the attachment to something
more harmless like .txt en transmit that, then
the receiver should be persuaded to rename them
back to the original to be able to view them.

You can also put them into a zip or tar archive
      for transmission.

Also keep in mind video might be large-ish, and
that the Mail transfer agents might impose limits
on the size of an email. If you send binary
information like this you also need to thing that
the intermediate file in mail will be about
      25-30% larger than the original.
