Blocking users from sending image attachments?

By bkatzman@farmsanctuary. ·
Hello All,
I am new to Exchange/AD and I was wondering the best/easiest ways to block users from sending image files (.jpg, .bmp, etc.) Any suggestions?
Thanks!

What version of Exchange are you using?

You may need to use Outlook policies to block attachments of specific types.

Thanks!
We are using Exchange Server 2003. Where are these policies set?

From what I am seeing Exchange doesn't have any built in controls for this.

Download the admin kit for the version of office you are using. It will have policy templates you can use to customize Outlook.

Didn't seem to work

Thanks for the reply, but this hasn't disable me from sending .jpg or .bmp files.
I added the string with these files in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

You want to add the Outlook Security Admin Package and follow those instructions.
I believe that the Registry edits are for standalone machines not using Exchange Servers.
