Blue screen on WinXP

I encounter a blue screen error after successful loading WinXP. Is there possible cause by incompatible hardware? When I shut down the PC for a day, it can bootup successfully but when running some application not more than 5 min, the blue screen error appear. My PC SPEC are 2000+ Athlon XP, 256 DDR Ram, MP-7VIP-L3 motherboard, AOpen MMX640 video card.
