boot up

Some How I have messed my computer up again. when I boot up the computer starts in the mode as if I had pushed F8 then I have to type 1 to log in normal then a line comes up that says Do you want to compact your registery now? I just push N If I pushed yes would it mess me up more? How do I get it to boot up correctly?
