Boot up to energy start screen then died, no power up

The keyboard on our home computer had some keys which stopped working. We got a new keyboard. It has been fine for about one week. Then it started beeping and the keyboard would not work. My son rebooted the computer and the keyboard would still not work. We tried another keyboard. Still nothing. Then on the next reboot the computer when through the vendor logo screen (eMachines) got to the energy star screen and hung up there. We powered it off. Now it is completely dead. No power. I am sure that at this point the beeping was the power supply just before it died. I just want to check out there to see if there could be anything else before I start the process of replacing the power supply only to find out that it is something else.
