There are tons of websites that you can visit and guides you how to create a bootable CDs!

Foremost of all, you need a CD-Writer and a CD-writing software with the feature that allows you to create bootable CDs.

Next, probably you need anotherPC with a working floppy drive to create a bootable floppy. There are couple of files you need to copy on this as well. You will need floppy when you start burning a bootable CD.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before you invest the money in the burner, et al. You need to see if your pc supports booting from the cd-rom. To do that, simply go into the bios upon startup (F1 for example) and check your "boot from" options. You may have to select the cd-romif it's not selected as an option. So your boot order would be first floppy, second cd-rom and lastly the hard drive. I hope this is helpful.

You may find lots of interesting stuff on:

1. http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/zipcda/bootcd.html
2. http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/zipcda/bootcd.html

Check if BIOS supports booting from CD-ROM. You may also find floppy boot imagefile(s) that you may use to create a bootable CD. Check the bootimage file source for viruses or make a bootable floppy on another PC.

Good luck and patience.

If you have an OEM version of Windows 98 or later, (it will say "for distribution only with a new PC") then that is bootable. Just do as the above people said and set the first boot device to CD-ROM in the BIOS.
