bootup error

By Rohintonsc ·
While booting win 2k an error msg comes on the command prompt "Boot.ini is corrupted, booting from c:\win.ini". Win 2k boots up and functions normally. Removed the full installation and re-installed win2k from scratch, i still get the same problem. Though it is not a problem, it is irritating to see an error msg.

No virus was detected. The same problem occurs after fresh installation on another hdd with another cd of win2k

you can also try booting off the windows 2000 cd into repair mode, and choose to repair using the recovery console. You can then run fixmbr and that will also fix any Mbr related issues.
