Despite having my Acer travelmate 4220 since November 07, I’m still just “switching things on” as I need them.
Had a bit of a problem with the card reader till I realised there was no driver installed – thanks Acer.
Had the same trouble with the bluetooth today – long story short, Ma can use my wired headset and mic with her hearing aid, so I “gifted” it. After waiting 3 weeks for HOB to pick me up a new headset, I decided since I had bluetooth on the lappie, and a headset that I find exceptionally comfy, I’d go the bluetooth way.
After finding the driver missing – tough luck, Acer, you didn’t catch me out this time – I downloaded one. Half way through, it found the hardware, and I thought I was sussed.
Wrong.
The device is found, it’s in the device manager, it knows it’s a bluetooth bus, but it won’t let me switch it on.
Yeesh.
Not even a flicker of light on the slider switch on the front.
I can’t double click, single click or right click on any icons, it’s just sitting looking at me, daring me to get it working.
Just for bloody once I would really have liked this to start working, so I could get Ma on skype and teach her how to connect to our rellies in the South of the UK.
Any hints tips or diagnostics I need to do?
Thanks all – plenty of thumbs at the ready!
